A Little Girls Question
(In order to learn English, since my English was horrible XD)
I’d capture a story about a little girl. I guessed her age were about three to four years at that time. Once she was looking upon the sky. A beautiful night sky with a lovely full moon and scattered stars. Then a thought cross of her mind, she found something to ask. Therefore, she decided to ask straightaway, without waiting any seconds to keep the question in her mind. Then she said, “Why moon always follow after me wherever I go?”
People who had listened to her question were laughing at her. They maybe think that she was so funny. Moon doesn’t follow anyone. Moon doesn’t even have any feet to walk. People kept laugh at her and didn’t realize that something might go wrong. Well, maybe there was nothing wrong. Neither the question, nor peoples who laugh at her. Maybe the question was very cute, so was her expression when she asked that. But the girl had grasped something that she shouldn’t even catch.
From that day, if she had any question to ask, she would think many… many times before she got the question came out her mind and transformed into words. Scare, shame, always come around her when she think she have to ask. She scared that the question might very fool so it would only bother the others. She would feel ashamed if her question was just the things that had been explained.
When she at the elementary school, she went with a car. She saw trees in a range formation. Some of them are in front of the others. She was watching it, and trying to understand that when she was moving with the car, the trees were doing the same thing in her sight. The frontage trees seemed leaving her faster than the back one. In her sight, she found that the back range trees following her before they actually going backward. She got the “aha” about her own question that she had asked many years ago. It should have been explained by the theory about time, velocity, and distance. Moon might didn’t following her that night, the distance between moon and her that made it seemed to move and go along her.
Therefore, she decided to find and answer her own question. She lived in her own mind. She often wonders about the answers that others would give for her questions. She has trying to figure out and answering her own questions so many years in her life. She made self-addressed questions. If someone asked, she would try to guessing and answering the question, even the question wasn’t for her.
Then she grew old. She still kept her question about “following moon”. She never lost her curiosity about many things yet still tried to answer her questions by herself. She learned so many things in her life, but so many questions that should have been asked just being threw by her. Time goes by and latter on, she found that she had wasted so many times because of her fatuity.
Nobody knows what would happen if peoples who listened her question didn’t laugh at her, neither she would. Nobody knows what would happen if the people answered her question appropriately. If they just pretended not to hear her question. If they just smiled at her and said, “You’ll find out why moon is chasing after you”. If they made a joke for her by saying, “Yeah… look… it is coming after you… watch out!! Oh no it is becoming bigger and bigger!! Be careful… it may fall into you!! Noooo… booom… kazoom!!!!”
Well for me, her story was inspiring. Our action, no matter how small it was, it could affect others. I believe that every action was neutral yet every reaction that made something become negative or positive. There was a space between every action and every reaction… something called selection. I’m hoping that I could give my best reaction for every action that came to me, especially when it related to children.
